2012.10.01 - CIET joins Family Medicine at McGill University

Montreal, Canada, 1 October 2013

From 1 October 2013, CIET moved its main institutional base in Canada to the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University, Montreal, to merge with Participatory Research at McGill (PRAM).

PRAM supports training in participatory research and community engagement in health care. Aboriginal health research has been at the heart of PRAM since its inception, through a long-term research partnership with the Mohawk Kahnawake Schools Diabetes Prevention Program. For the last six years, PRAM and CIET co-hosted the Anisnawbe Kekendazone (Original Knowledge), an Aboriginal research and training initiative funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

Neil Andersson, scientific director of CIET at the Universidad Autónoma de Guerrero in Mexico, has joined the McGill University Department of Family Medicine as professor and as science director of the newly amalgamated CIET- PRAM.
