The second LoPHID cycle focussed on collecting and analysing data for improving the prenatal services provided by Health and Community Services, Eastern Region. It also has implications for developing partnerships (e.g. with physicians, hospitals, and community groups) and for public health promotion initiatives, including advocacy. This cycle produced a baseline on pregnancy issues including the patterns of usage of prenatal services. It also looked at the health behavior of pregnant women in an effort to assess their health decision-making during pregnancy. It was intended to contribute to the development of a series of programmes that would improve pregnancy, delivery and early post-partum outcomes for both mothers and children.
