BNS: Beyond Victims and Villains – 2009 update

CIET created the original BVV series in South Africa in 2004, based on evidence from a national schools survey in 2003. It was available in most of the South African languages. It comprised six main episodes and one supplementary episode about ART.

This 2009 updated version of the BVV series uses evidence from CIET studies among youth and adults in 2007 in 10 southern African countries and in 2008 in three of these countries (Botswana, Namibia, and Swaziland).

The 2009 BVV2 series is available for three countries: Botswana, Namibia, and Swaziland, each version using evidence from that country. It is available in:

Botswana: Setswana, English

Namibia: English, Afrikaans, Otjiherero, Oshiwambo, Damaranama

Swaziland: SiSwati, English

Two issues of a newsletter sharing communication challenges and success stories from the field in Botswana, Namibia and Swaziland are available from the library, issue 1 and issue 2.
