Breastfeeding
Information on breastfeeding practices is commonly obtained in surveys dealing with child health and nutrition. Three examples of a more concentrated focus on the subject can be found in Canada, Nepal and Pakistan.
Breastfeeding was the subject of CIET studies in Labrador, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia (Eastern and Northern) and Prince Edward Island (preliminary and province wide) under the Local Public Health Infrastructure (LoPHID) project from 1998 to 2000.
In Nepal, early childhood feeding was a special focus of the Multiple Indicator Surveillance projects.
In Pakistan, as part of the Building the Community Voice project, CIET examined the Bond of Care between mothers and their infants, in which breastfeeding plays a central part.
