Eastern Newfoundland: Heart health, 2000
The third LoPHID cycle in the Eastern Region, Newfoundland focused on the collection and analysis of data related to heart health, promoting a continued dialogue with the community on heart health issues. Heart health was identified as one of three health promotion priority areas to be addressed by Health and Community Services, Eastern Region over the coming five years. In addressing heart health as a health promotion priority, the goal was to reduce the prevalence of risk factors for heart disease among the residents of the Eastern Region through increased awareness and community action related to healthy eating, active living and reduced use of, and exposure to, tobacco.
