Nicaragua: Institutional Development of a Local NGO
Puntos de Encuentro Para Transformar La Vida Cotidiana requested an evaluation of its institutional capacity and of the impact of its projects on women and youth. In addition to review of documents and interviews with the agency’s staff, a household survey was conducted among 2,926 women above 25 years of age and 3,198 male and female youth (between the ages of 13 and 24) in the 43 sites representing the seven geographical regions of the country. Fifty-eight key informant interviews were conducted among other NGOs, public institutions, and public opinion leaders. Estimation of impact focused on three activities: the agency’s bi-monthly bulletin, its hour-long weekly radio programme, and its periodic mass campaigns on particular themes.
