Swaziland
During 2007 participants from Swaziland took part in CIET’s African Development of AIDS Prevention Trial (ADAPT) programme which aims to build on local health capacity to plan, conduct, analyse and use the evidence from large scale, multi-centred AIDS prevention trials in southern Africa.
Swaziland is also one of the Southern African countries included in the 8-country Soul City media impact evaluation of 2002-2008, and a participant in the pragmatic randomized controlled trial on AIDS prevention through reduced choice-disability.
Starting in 2005 CIET began an assessment of the country’s Behaviour Change Campaign (BCC) with a baseline survey and focus group work. One outcome of this assessment was an article published in 2010 in the journal AIDS Care.
