Dialogue groups about prevention of kunika

Twelve groups (six groups of women, six groups of men) met at community or ward level, one group met at Toro LGA level, and one group met at State level. Nearly all the participants in these groups had participated in sessions to map out their knowledge about causes and prevention of kunika.

The facilitators presented summarized maps from the analysis of the maps produced by the individual groups, and discussed with the group their interpretation of the findings. Each group then went on to discuss how the important causes and preventive factors for kunika that emerged from the mapping exercise could be discussed in home visits in an accessible and acceptable way.

The groups suggested ways to portray the important issues in a docu-drama format.
